The Office of the Cook County Medical Examiner has disclosed in a statement that the cause of death of Late American singer Juice WRLD is an accidental overdose of oxycodone and codeine.

According to the medical examiner, the 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jared A. Higgins, the way he died was an accident.

Juice WRLD, 21 years old, died in a hospital he was rushed to after suffering a medical emergency shortly after arriving at Chicago’s Midway International Airport on December 8, 2019.

On the day of his death, Chicago police were called to the airport to assist federal authorities “in the case of a private jet arriving at the airport carrying a large amount of drugs.” Once police searched the plane, they discovered 41 bags of suspected marijuana, six bottles of suspected liquid codeine and three weapons, a police statement said.

However, the occupants of the aircraft all denied possession of the kit.

Juice WRLD suffered a seizure during the search, and Narcan was administered by the Homeland Security Officer. Narcan is used to reverse the effects of an overdose of opioid. Unfortunately, the rapper has not recovered.
