Player flying in to undergo medical after Man Utd has agreed to a £ 56 m deal – reports
According to multiple accounts, Bruno Fernandes is traveling to the UK to undergo his medical treatment and finalize his move to Manchester United following an agreement with Sporting Lisbon.
Fernandes was heavily associated with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer allegedly identifying the Portuguese international as the person to add creativity to his midfield this season.
The 24-year-old contributed a staggering 32 goals and 18 assists last year for Sporting Lisbon to make him one of the planet’s most hazardous attacking midfielders and it looks like United is closing in on a big-money deal.
Spanish outlet Marca claims that Fernandes is on his way to the UK to undergo his medical treatment after Manchester United agreed to deal with Sporting with £ 55.8 million[ € 62 million]. This is the same figure stated by journalist Nicolo Schira from Gazzette dello Sport–who also says a € 62 m agreement is in place and Fernandes is set to sign a five-year agreement with United.
Another Spanish publication, Sport, also reports that Fernandes will complete his move to Manchester United within a matter of hours after a negotiating breakthrough – although the fee is actually £ 63 million [ € 70 million ].
In addition to concluding an agreement for Fernandes, both Marca and Sport indicate that United also hopes to sign Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and will pay for the two midfielders with Paul Pogba’s sale to Real Madrid.
These reports bare a striking similarity to Thursday’s Corriere Dello Sports article, which also said that Fernandes and Milinkovic-Savic would join United with Pogba heading to the Bernabeu.
We’re going to have to wait and see how much truth behind these reports, but it looks like it’s going to be a busy final few days of Old Trafford’s transfer window as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to update his team.
Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have already been signed by the Norwegian coach, but he wants to revamp his midfield choices and it seems that Fernandes and Milinkovic-Savic could head to United – although fans would be disappointed if their arrivals led to Pogba’s departure.
