Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh says the industry’s female practitioners share the same men, clothes, and films.

In an interview with PlusTVAfrica, the 33-year-old actress made this disclosure while reacting to claims of rivalry trends in Nigeria’s film industry.

A few months ago, a comedian cum film producer, Ayo Makun, shared a long post on his Instagram post claiming that the Nigerian film industry is a community in which ‘ enmity reigns supreme. ‘

Tonto confirmed that the intense rivalry stems from the fact that actors are competing for the same goal in the Nigerian film industry.

We are all fighting for the same thing. It’s a circle, we share the same men, the same clothes, the same movies, the same things, so it’s a circle… Why would you want to be friends with someone who wants to take your life?” Tonto said.

Although the actress was unable to provide any valid evidence to support her claim, she insisted on recycling and dating the same men by Nollywood actress.

The actress went further to decry the current state of films churned out from Nollywood.
“There is no adrenaline rush when you’re watching Nigerian movies,” she said.
Speaking on some controversies in which she had been caught up over the years, Tonto said though the negative remarks are ‘frustrating’, they have also proven to be beneficial.
“I am still one of the most talked about. The controversy kept me at that stage where I make money from people. I don’t look for trouble, so when you come at me, especially in a negative way, sometimes it is just so frustrating,” she said.
