Nigerians were left in panic after news filtered that AMCON is going to sell Polaris bank after elections next month.

Following revelations that the Nigerian Asset Management Corporation, AMCON, revealed that the process for the sale of Polaris Bank would begin after the general elections in February.

According to Jude Nwauzor, AMCON spokesman, the February elections are slowing the process. He made it known when he spoke with Reuters on Tuesday.

“The election time has slowed things down. We would advertise after the elections for expressions of interest from investors and begin the sales process. ”

However, following the fears expressed by some Nigerian bank customers, Polaris Bank assured the customers of the security of their savings in the bank.

According to a statement made on Polaris Bank’s twitter handle, “We would like to take this opportunity to guarantee our valued customers the security of their funds. Polaris Bank is financially stable and able to fulfill our obligations at any time.”

This was in response to many twitter users who visited the micro- blogging site to express their fears about their funds in the bank.

Below is a collection of tweets about the development:

OLA @larbenchy, @larbenchy: “The bank of Polaris is being sold. Well, better withdraw your money before the bank finally folds up!!!”

Pesinpikin @ayoola oyerinde: “Now that banks do better and withdraw your money from Polaris bank before the money begins to turn off “

CHIDUBEM JOSEPH NJOKU @ChidubemNJ: “Just weeks after the sale of Sky Bank and now the sale of Polaris Bank after the general election. I’m not going to be surprised to wake up one morning and hear that Nigeria was put on sale.”

DADDY THE BOY @DaddyTheBoy: “When did Skye Bank buy? Now they want to sell Polaris Bank Wakanda. “

” If I start saving my data subscription money, I’ll have enough money to buy Polaris Bank after the election”

CHIDUBEM JOSEPH NJOKU @ChidubemNJ “The government took over Polaris Bank and only four months later, for the same reason that they took it over, they put it on sale? Apparently the only thing that the Nigerian government can keep in this country properly is a rock. A very useless Aso rock.”
